    LVP and LVT are both luxury vinyl flooring where LVP is sold in planks with a wood-like image and LVT is engineered to resemble slate, stone, or tile.
  • Is Vinyl Flooring Scratch Proof?
    Vinyl flooring is not 100% scratch proof. Higher quality flooring will certenly perform better at resisting scratches. However, even the discount brands have a long wear life. To extend the life of vinyl flooring keep grit off of the floor, protect high traffic areas by using mats, use pads on sharp furnature legs, and keep pet nails trimmed.

    While vinyl flooring has a tough wear surface a rolling desk chair is a formidable challenge. The concentrated caster weight and repeated directional changes on a floor with dirt and grit will quickly mar the flooring. It's best to use an office chair mat to protect your flooring investment.

    Vinyl flooring is a good option for basements. The surface of the basement will dictate your options. A cement subfloor needs to be level and completely free of imperfections. Often a barrier sub-floor is used to provide a quite and confortable surface. Vinyl planks on bare cement will make a crunching noise when walked on.
  • Cleaning Luxury Vinyl
    Always use a damp mop or soft sponge with a mild cleaner to cleanup spills or for routine cleaning. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, gritty pumice, or caustic products containing chemicals like ammonia, bleach, or petroleum base. Check with the flooring manufacture for specific recommendations.
  • Vacuum luxury vinyl
    All luxury vinyl can be vacuumed regularly. When using a vacuum make sure the device’s roller brush is turned off, if equipped.
  • What flooring can be used with LVP
    Vinyl flooring can be installed on any existing floor except carpet and direct to ground. The concern is if the existing floor is not completely smooth or dry and the type of installation method used.
  • Installation Options
    The methods for installing vinyl flooring are variations of floating or glued. Floating floors are not glued they are either interlocking planks snapped together or loose laid where a friction back holds the planks in place. Glue down is either peel & stick, fully spread glue, or perimeter glued.

  • What's needed for DIY installation
    DIY installation requires a few simple and inexpensive tools. These include a tape measure, a pencil, chalk line, high quality utility knife, and carpenter square. If you are using glue, you will need a floor roller to smooth out the vinyl.
